Nutella oatmeal
A decadent choice for Sunday! cook oatmeal with milk and add 1 tbs Nutella after the oats are cooked. Stir well, serve, and top with a dollop of Nutella and some crushed nuts.
Nectarine spiced oatmeal
1/2 cup soy milk, 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup oats, dash of salt, 1 medium nectarine cut in cubes, 1 tsp. of vanilla extract, cinnamon and nutmeg, couple of tbs. raisins. Add the nectarine and raisins to the milk, water and spices before heating to a boil and adding the oats. Serve and top with crushed nuts for some crunch. Add a swirl of agave nectar or honey if you like it sweet. Delicious!
Blueberries and almond oatmeal
1/2 cup almond milk, 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup oats, dash of salt, and PLENTY of blueberries. Cook oatmeal following instructions, serve and top with crushed almonds and a swirl of agave nectar. A nice way to use up those five pounds of blueberries I got at the store!
Welcome!
Oatmeal! The humble and comforting food that brings me back to my happy childhood, when my grandma used to cook it in a thick and rich porridge. As an adult, I now know that oatmeal is a very healthy food too, rich in fiber and essential vitamins, minerals, nutrients, and antioxidants. So here's part of my journey as I re-discover new ways to enjoy the oats!
